What size trampoline do I need?
Measure your yard against the frame, not the bed. Our four standard sizes run from the Family (12′ × 6′ bed in a 4625 × 2820 mm frame) to the Olympic Elite (14′ × 7′ bed in a 5250 × 3070 mm frame), the one most families choose. Allow 2 metres clear around it and 5 metres overhead. And if none of our sizes fits your yard, we’ll build one that does.
Every size we make, side by side
The bed is the bit you bounce on. The frame is the steel around it, and it’s the number that decides the hole, the deck cut-out or the patch of lawn you’ll be giving up.
| Model | Bed (feet) | Bed (mm) | Frame, external (mm) | Springs | Mountings |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mini Cube | 5′ × 5′ | 1465 × 1465 | 2000 × 2000 | 52 | Deck, above-ground |
| Wheelchair Access | 6′ × 3′ | 1830 × 915 | 2390 × 1470 | 80 | In-ground, deck |
| Midi Cube | 7′ × 7′ | 2130 × 2130 | 3070 × 3070 | 76 | Deck, above-ground |
| Family | 12′ × 6′ | 3660 × 1830 | 4625 × 2820 | 98 | In-ground, deck, above-ground |
| Family Elite | 12′ × 7′ | 3660 × 2130 | 4625 × 3070 | 102 | In-ground, deck, above-ground |
| Olympic | 14′ × 6′ | 4270 × 1830 | 5250 × 2820 | 110 | In-ground, deck, above-ground |
| Olympic Elite | 14′ × 7′ | 4270 × 2130 | 5250 × 3070 | 114 | In-ground, deck, above-ground |
| Mega Cube | 14′ × 14′ | 4270 × 4270 | 5250 × 5250 | 152 | In-ground, above-ground |
| Super Tramp | 20′ × 10′ | 6100 × 3080 | 7080 × 4060 | 162 | In-ground |
The names follow a simple pattern. Family models have a 12-foot bed, Olympic models a 14-foot bed, and Elite means the bed is 7 feet wide instead of 6. All four use the same woven 2-string bed and the same 11-inch springs.
The four standard sizes are held in stock in green or blue. Everything else in the table, and any other colour, is made to order.
Don't see your size? We'll build it.
Absolutely. A large share of what we make is custom: frames and beds built to the space you actually have, for back yards as well as venues. A compact courtyard, an awkward corner, an in-deck trampoline for a new house build, or an old frame from a brand that stopped trading years ago. Bring us the measurements and we’ll work it out with you.
Every bed is woven on our own looms in Carnegie, so we’re not stuck with a list of stock sizes. We once wove a 35-metre fast-track bed for a customer in Denmark. Your yard is probably easier.
“Adam was fantastic in developing a perfect custom solution for a compact space.” Fraser Raven, Google review
“Went above and beyond to help us with a non standard size and installation.” Craig Rundell, Google review
Custom work is made to order, so there’s no change-of-mind return. Check your measurements with us before you order; we’d much rather get it right the first time. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are unaffected.
Which size suits young children?
Any of them, with the right mounting and a grown-up nearby. The bounce comes from the jumper, so a small child gets a soft, gentle bounce on the same bed a teenager sends much higher. It grows with them instead of being outgrown.
For pre-school and early-childhood settings, the Mini Cube is our purpose-built small trampoline. At any size, in-ground gives the lowest fall height: the bed sits flush with the lawn.
The rules matter more than the size: one person at a time, land in the centre of the bed, stay off the rubber or padding, and supervise children, especially those aged about 2 to 5.
Which size suits a family?
For most family gardens, the Family (12′ × 6′) gives the full Mr Trampoline bounce in a 4625 × 2820 mm frame. The Family Elite keeps the same length and adds 300 mm of bed width, which is the difference most people notice underfoot.
Got the room? The Olympic Elite (14′ × 7′) is our biggest seller, and the one the whole family fights over.
Think about the space you have, how many kids will be queuing for a turn (one at a time, mind) and how serious they’re likely to get.
Which size suits teenagers and adults?
The Olympic (14′ × 6′) or the Olympic Elite (14′ × 7′). Their beds are 610 mm longer than the Family models’, which gives taller, stronger jumpers room to move, and the Olympic Elite carries the most springs of the four: 114.
Every frame is 100 × 50 mm Australian steel, hot-dip galvanised and static load-tested to 1,000 kg. As one customer put it: “FYI it’s adult approved also!” Teresa Brown, Google review
The rules don’t change with age: one person at a time, land in the centre.
Which size is right for gymnastics practice at home?
The Olympic Elite. Its 14′ × 7′ bed is the longest and widest of our four standard sizes, with 114 springs, so there’s the most room to work on timing and basic skills between coached sessions.
Choose in-ground if you can. It keeps the bed at ground level, which lowers the fall height if a landing goes wrong. Practise at home only what you can already do safely, and learn new skills with a coach.
What is an “Olympic” size trampoline?
It’s the name of our two 14-foot models. The Olympic has a 14′ × 6′ bed (4270 × 1830 mm) in a 5250 × 2820 mm frame. The Olympic Elite has a 14′ × 7′ bed (4270 × 2130 mm) in a 5250 × 3070 mm frame.
Customers have called them “Olympic size” for decades, and the Olympic Elite outsells every other size we make. Both come as in-ground, deck or above-ground kits, with the same woven bed and 11-inch springs as the rest of the standard range.
“Adam and the team built our Olympic size tramp at the farm 10 years ago. Millions of bounces (and dozens of kids later) it’s still going strong.” Duncan Stewart, Google review
What's the biggest rectangular trampoline you make?
The Super Tramp: a 20′ × 10′ bed (6100 × 3080 mm) on 162 springs, 54 down each side and 27 across each end. That’s about 18.8 square metres of bed, and the largest trampoline we build.
In our standard build the bed hooks straight onto the springs, in a 7080 × 4060 mm in-ground frame. We also make a high-performance build that runs cord from each hanger clip out to the spring for a wider sweet spot. It needs a bigger frame, 7500 × 4650 mm. Ask us which suits your site.
Of the four standard sizes, the biggest is the Olympic Elite (14′ × 7′). Prefer a square? The Mega Cube puts a 14′ × 14′ bed, about 18.2 square metres, in a 5250 × 5250 mm frame.
How much room do I need?
Start with the frame size, then give it some personal space around and above.
- Around it: 2 metres on every side. For an above-ground trampoline, allow 2 metres on all sides and clear anything hazardous within that distance. An in-ground trampoline can sit closer to some fixed objects, so talk to us about your site before you pick a spot.
- Above it: 5 metres clear overhead, as a minimum. Look up before you dig.
- Under it: level ground. Place it on a level surface, clear of structures, trees and other obstacles. A standard above-ground frame stands about 1 metre high, and the above-ground Mega Cube about 1.4 metres.
- Getting it in: a kit arrives as a single skid, so think about access to the back yard as well as space in it.
As a planning guide, here’s each frame with 2 metres added on every side:
| Model | Frame (mm) | With 2 m all round (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Mini Cube | 2000 × 2000 | 6.0 × 6.0 m |
| Midi Cube | 3070 × 3070 | 7.1 × 7.1 m |
| Family | 4625 × 2820 | 8.7 × 6.9 m |
| Family Elite | 4625 × 3070 | 8.7 × 7.1 m |
| Olympic | 5250 × 2820 | 9.3 × 6.9 m |
| Olympic Elite | 5250 × 3070 | 9.3 × 7.1 m |
| Mega Cube | 5250 × 5250 | 9.3 × 9.3 m |
| Super Tramp | 7080 × 4060 | 11.1 × 8.1 m |
For the Wheelchair Access trampoline, allow 2 to 3 metres clear all round so a chair and carers can move freely: about 6.4 × 5.5 m to 8.4 × 7.5 m.
An in-ground installation usually takes 3 to 5 days. An above-ground trampoline takes two people 2 to 3 hours to assemble.
Can I take one home today?
Quite possibly. The four standard sizes are held in stock in green or blue. We usually ship the next business day, and if you collect from the workshop you can have it the same day.
