Can I get a commercial-grade trampoline for my backyard?
Yes, and you don’t need to own a trampoline park to get one. Our backyard kits use the same woven 2-string bed and galvanised Australian steel frame we build for trampoline parks and schools, with full-length 11-inch springs. Take a standard size, or have one built to fit. At home it’s covered by our residential warranty: 30 years on the frame, 8 on the bed (re-coated every 3 years), 5 on rubber surrounds.
What's the same as a commercial trampoline?
Same workshop, same looms, same steel. Your back yard will just see fewer birthday parties than a trampoline park. Probably.
- The bed. Every bed we make, for a back yard or a trampoline park, is a 2-string bed woven on our own looms in Carnegie, coated with our rubberised paint and hooked to the springs through stainless steel hanger clips. The Olympic Elite bed in a family’s garden is the same bed we supply to commercial projects.
- The frame. 100 × 50 mm Australian steel, C350 grade, hot-dip galvanised after fabrication, right through the range: a 2.5 mm wall on in-ground and deck frames, 3.0 mm on above-ground. Our frames are static load-tested to 1,000 kg.
- The springs. The 11-inch performance spring is our standard spring, and it goes on every standard backyard size: 98 on the Family, up to 114 on the Olympic Elite.
- The parts. Venues keep a trampoline in service by replacing a bed, springs or surrounds, not the whole trampoline. You can do the same at home, for as long as you own it. In Victoria we’ll come out and service it; interstate, we can put you in touch with contractors we’ve dealt with who know the work.
Can you build one to fit my yard?
Absolutely. A large share of our work is custom: frames and beds made to the space you’ve actually got, for homes as well as venues. A compact courtyard, an in-deck trampoline for a new house build, an awkward corner of the garden: send us the measurements and we’ll work it out with you.

Custom work is made to order, so there’s no change-of-mind return. Check your measurements with us before you order; we’d much rather get it right the first time. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are unaffected.
What's different about a trampoline built for a venue?
A venue trampoline lives a harder life than yours will, so a few things change.
- It’s engineered for the site. A trampoline park, a school gym and an elite training hall each need something different, so springs, frame layout, legs and padding are specified for each project.
- The maintenance is heavier. A venue bed is re-coated with our rubberised paint every year. At home, it’s every 3 years.
- Venues get a compliance pack. Commercial projects are designed for the venue with AS 5159.1, the trampoline park standard, in mind from the first drawings, then documented for the building surveyor, insurer and safety auditor. Where engaged, Adam Richards may give a written opinion as a competent person. That is not product certification. Our residential kits are built with the safety aspects of domestic use in mind; the domestic standard is AS 4989.
- We install venues ourselves. For commercial projects we install in-house or arrange it. A backyard kit ships ready for you, your builder or your landscaper to put in. In Melbourne and regional Victoria we can usually put you in touch with an installer; elsewhere in Australia, ask us and we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible for your area.
Does a backyard trampoline get the commercial warranty?
No. The warranty follows how the trampoline is used, not what it’s built from. A trampoline in your back yard for your family is covered by our residential Limited Lifetime Warranty. The Commercial Use Guarantee covers any non-residential setting, including but not limited to schools, clubs, gymnastics and training venues, therapy and institutional settings, and commercial trampoline venues.

The frame term is the same either way. At home, the bed carries 8 years on a 3-yearly re-coat. Venues other than approved gymnastics venues get 4 years and must re-coat every year, and a gymnastics venue gets 8 only if it enforces a no-shoes, no-jewellery, gymnastics-attire policy. Both apply to the original purchaser and aren’t transferable.
Planning to run paid classes or hire the trampoline out from home? Tell us before you order. Commercial, rental, institutional and non-residential use are outside the residential warranty and fall under the Commercial Use Guarantee.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and both warranties are in addition to those rights.
Who uses the same beds?
Trampoline parks, elite programs, schools and an alpine resort:
- Bounce Inc: we have supplied their performance zone since 2012.
- AFL Max: high-cycle performance beds.
- Olympic Winter Institute / NSTC: competition-grade string beds and bungee training rigs for Australia’s aerial ski and snowboard athletes.
- Brighton Grammar: flush-mounted beds built into the school’s movement program.
- Mt Buller (Buller Airzone): an alpine air centre 1,600 m up the mountain.
Venues run them for thousands of bounces a day, 365 days a year. Yours will get a gentler life.
Is commercial grade overkill for a back yard?
No. “Commercial grade” describes how well the trampoline is built, not how hard it throws you. The springs only give back what the jumper puts in, so a small child gets a soft, gentle bounce and a teenager or adult gets more height from the same bed.
What you notice at home is how long it lasts. We expect our frames to last 30 years plus. A bed that’s loved and looked after, re-coated every 3 years, can be expected to last 20 to 25 years; left unloved and never re-coated, 10 to 12. The 8-year bed warranty is the formal promise, and real life runs longer. When a bed does wear out, you replace the bed, not the trampoline.

Which model should I choose?
The same choice as any of our backyard kits. Most families choose the Olympic Elite (14′ × 7′ bed, 114 springs). For a smaller garden, the Family (12′ × 6′) gives the same bed and springs in a shorter frame. For the largest jumping areas we build, there’s the Mega Cube (14′ × 14′) and the Super Tramp (20′ × 10′). And if none of those fits, we’ll build one that does.
The four standard sizes come as in-ground, deck or above-ground kits, and in-ground gives the lowest fall height. They’re held in stock in green or blue: we usually ship the next business day, or you can collect from our Carnegie workshop the same day, which is our favourite way to do it. We’re open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Do the venue rules apply at home?
Yes. The rules that keep a venue safe are the same ones that keep a back yard safe:
- One person at a time. The only exception is two players, one each side of an installed Bounce Ball net.
- Land in the centre of the bed, and stay off the rubber or padding.
- Supervise children, especially those aged about 2 to 5.
- Jump within your skill level, and learn new skills with a coach.
